Where to Take Your Dog in Auburn-Opelika

Parks

Ag Heritage Park, Auburn: Walk your dog around the 30 acres of land here, play fetch or relax at a picnic table while your pup swims in the pond.

Chewacla State Park, Auburn: Leashed dogs are welcome in most areas of this 696-acre park. Hike the trails or take a short walk on an easy looped path. The park also has a 26-acre lake and dog-friendly cabins for overnight stays.

Kiesel Park, Auburn: The city’s largest dog park is located in Kiesel Park. It has two separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, plus a playground and agility course. Dogs must be on a leash when not in the fenced area.

Town Creek Park, Auburn: A 200×50 foot dog park features a double-gated entrance, ADA accessibility, benches and a water fountain for pets and people. The park also has a creek that dogs can play in.

Restaurants

Acre, Auburn: Offering a fresh twist on Southern flavors, along with charcuterie, pickles and jams, this rustic restaurant focuses on locally sourced ingredients. Best of all for pet lovers, it has a dog-friendly outdoor seating area.

Amsterdam Café, Auburn: Within a short walk of Auburn University, Amsterdam Café serves Southern food, seafood, Sunday brunch and more. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables.

Coffee Cat, Auburn: Dogs are allowed inside and on the patio, and there are free dog treats at the cash register.

Mama Mocha’s Coffee Emporium, Auburn: Fresh roasted coffee, a variety of unique hot and cold coffee drinks and sweet treats are on the menu at this café where dogs are welcome indoors and out.

Red Clay Brewing Company, Opelika: Belly up to the bar with your pup and enjoy a selection of eight craft beers plus pizza and nachos.
