How to Organize Your Closet Like a Pro
October 11, 2016
One of the criteria home buyers use when searching for Phenix City AL real estate is how much closet space is available in a house. Having adequate storage space is a must to maintain organization within a home. And that’s especially important for your bedroom closet. But no matter how large or small that space is, there are ways to organize your closet so you can find what you need at a moment’s notice. Here are a few ideas you can try:
Hanger Help – Use hangers that latch onto each other so your clothes can be hung vertically in a smaller space. Or try huggable hangers, which also save space and keep your sweaters from slipping off.
Daily Clothes Setup – Not a morning person? Plan ahead by setting up a whole week’s worth of outfits. Stick labels on your hangers with the days of the week so you know which outfit to wear each day.
Organize by Color, Style – Group wardrobe staples together, like all your shirts in one place and pants in another so finding them is easy. Go a step further and organize clothing by color so you can see right away what you need.
Shoe Storage – Do you store your shoes in their original boxes? Place a photo on the front of each box so you can easily find the pair you need. Standard shoe racks are useful too, but if they don’t work for some of your shoes, you can always try adding shelves to your space to hold them.
Roll, Don’t Fold – Give your t-shirts maximum visibility in a closet drawer by rolling them, instead of folding them. Rolling also works well for neckties and scarves, which can then be stored on a closet shelf. If shelves aren’t an option, these items can be stored in a small box.
Label It – Any items you store in boxes where the contents can’t be easily seen should contain labels so you know what’s inside. This is especially useful when it comes to seasonal storage.
