With all of the homes for sale in Columbus GA you may find yourself in the position of meeting your new neighbors. Getting to know your neighbors can provide a safer community plus you may make some great friends in the process. Finding the time to get to know your neighbors can be a struggle especially right after the big move.

Here are some ways to get to know your neighbors with out leaving it up to chance.

Be Up Front

Spend more time in the front yard trimming the hedges, plant flowers or on your front your porch reading a good book, drinking some coffee or wine.  Being outside will lead to conversations with neighbors as they passing by.  If you don’t have a front yard, then spend time on your balcony, deck, or walking your dog around the neighborhood.

Let’s Party

Take your party to the street or your living room. Plan on joining in the annual neighborhood block party or invite your neighbors on your block over for a cocktail party. That way you don’t feel the pressure to feed everyone. You can have a “bring your own” party held in the afternoon or evening. You decide what you feel comfortable with but whatever you choose you are sure to have a fun time meeting new people.

Small Gestures

For those who are a little more introverted make an effort  or a goal to get to know two neighbors. It does not have to be a formal party. It could be a small gesture like giving a neighbor some homemade jam with a small note of introduction or some vegetables from your garden. Small gestures of kindness will go a long way in making friends.
