Home Organizing Tips from HGTV’s Joanna Gaines
May 21, 2017
Keeping a home neat and organized can be challenging for many people. Joanna Gaines, host of HGTV’s Fixer Upper, has some great ideas for buyers of Columbus homes to help you keep clutter at bay once you move in to your new place. Here are just a few:
Kitchen Essentials – Easily see what’s in your pantry by storing your flour, sugar, coffee and tea in attractive, easy to reach glass canisters. Open air shelves are also handy in the kitchen because they allow you to keep all of your best tableware organized, and on display as a decorative accent.
Versatile Cubbies – Storage cubbies are the perfect solution for families on the go. They’re great for managing items in your home such as school supplies, toys, sporting gear, cleaning supplies, and anything else that you want to have handy to use.
Baskets – Small or large baskets are also useful for keeping items from cluttering up your home. Store art supplies in small baskets with handles, so you can take them with you when you need them. Baskets also work well to store pillow and other linens in your closet so they’re out of sight until you need them.
Shelving Ideas – Oversize bookcases work well for displaying your favorite novels as well as beloved keepsakes. Wall shelving units give your room a modern flair while creating more storage space for knick-knacks, plants and other items. Galvanized metal shelving can be used in the garage to hold yard tools, in the office to keep work files organized, or to hold your DVD collection.
Tabletop Trays – Create a more put-together vibe for your living room or bedroom with the use of tabletop trays that hold items like candles, notepads and remote controls.
