Great Outdoor Activities for your Kids

August 22, 2020

Are you looking for a great way to get the kids outside? Check out these outdoor activities to keep the kids active and entertained.

Create an outdoor movie theater – Bring the theater to your backyard for movie night. You do not need many supplies to make it happen. Get a projector, cloth or projector screen, speakers (basic will do), and a laptop computer. Get the entire family invovled and invite your homes in Opelika AL neighbors over for a good time.

Engage in game of ring toss – Purchase the kids an inflatable hat ring toss game! Whoever wins will have bragging rights for a long time. This is sure to be lots of fun and can be played in the back or front yard.

Make a DIY slip and slide – Water activities are sure to get the kids moving and excited. Making a DIY slip and slide for your backyard is easy and simple. All you need is a tarp, anchor pins, and baby soap. Fold the tarp in half and use anchor pins to hold the tarp in place. Lather it with baby soap to make it extra slippery and then turn on the hose.

Organize water gun painting – Do your kiddos enjoy painting? If they do, then they will absolutely love this style of painting. Place watercolor paper on an easel, fill the squirt gun or spray bottle with watered down liquid watercolor or watered-down washable paints, and see what the kids can create with their aim.

Plant a fall garden – Autumn is right around the corner. Have the kids plant a garden of flowers or vegetables for the fall harvest. Beans, broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens, and peas are good vegetables to grown. Great flowers to plant include dogwoods, mums, pansies, and violas.

Play cornhole – This is the perfect outdoor game that many people love. Place the game on your driveway, in the backyard, or front yard and toss away!

Put together a relay race – There are so many fun races your kids could do including a baton race, foot race, hula hoop race, three-legged race, water balloon race, wheel barrel race. This outdoor activity is a good way to get the other kids in your homes in Opelika AL community involved.
