With alarm clocks set, backpacks packed, lunches made, and outfits picked out, it can only mean two things. Summer is officially over, and school is back in session. Residents of our Columbus GA homes assigned to the Muscogee County School District started school less than two weeks ago. And for many of those who spent last school year distance learning, there will be adjustments needed for in-person learning. Use these tips to help get your home ready for back-to-school.
- Have a centralized messaging station – This area will help to keep track of appointments, emergency numbers, extracurricular activities, schedules, school contact information, sporting events, and other important information. Include a calendar as well as a whiteboard and pegboard to help keep organized.
- Make a homework zone – This space should be a comfortable environment that fosters learning. It should be void of distractions to allow your kids to concentrate and get work done.
- Create a backpack landing zone – One of the first things your kids will do when they get home is take off their backpacks. The last thing you want is for it to clutter up your home or get misplaced. Create a dedicated area in your home for the bags to be easily accessible.
- Keep school supplies stocked – Your school most likely provided a list of supplies they would need to get started for the school year. Stock up on items such as pens, pencils, papers, notebooks, erases, crayons, markers, rules, so that your kids will have enough to get through the school year.
From our family to yours, we wish our Columbus GA homes students an awesome school year!Tags: new homes columbus, new homes columbus ga
