Fun Activities for Easter and Spring Break in Columbus GA

Homes in Columbus GA will be filled with excited children when the Muscogee County public schools take their spring break March 26-30, just before Easter weekend. Luckily, plenty of activities will be going on around Columbus to help kids (and parents!) enjoy the time off. Here are a few ways to make the most of spring break:

Visit the Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny will be on hand every day from March 16 to March 31 for special photos at Peachtree Mall, 3131 Manchester Expressway, Columbus. Each photo package includes eight printed photos plus unlimited digital downloads and the fun of a visit to the Easter Bunny.

Family Day at the mall on March 18 will also include fun family activities to complement a day spent shopping and visiting the Easter Bunny. March 25 is designated as “Dress Your Best” day. Kids are encouraged to put on their “Sunday best” to get their photos taken with the Easter Bunny.

Oxbow Meadows Spring Break Adventures

Each weekday morning during spring break, families can head over to Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center at 3535 S. Lumpkin Road, Columbus for a series of outdoor learning adventures. Each event will run from 10-11 a.m. and will cost $5 per session. Topics include Radical Reptiles, Mystery Hike, Wildlife Explorations and Fizz, Pop, Boom!

Great Bunny Chase 5K & Kids Fun Run

Fit folks can burn off some calories the day before Easter by participating in a 5K and kids’ race at Callaway Resort & Gardens, 17800 US 27, Pine Mountain. The fun begins at noon on March 31 with a half-mile Bunny Hop for the kids. The 5K begins at 12:30 and follows a course around Robin Lake and on nearby roads. The Easter Bunny himself will be waiting for runners to chase him—but he’ll also leave 3,000 eggs along the course for runners to pick up! Runners will have to decide whether they want to go fast and catch the bunny or slow down and take the time to collect eggs! When the race is over, Callaway Gardens will host its annual children’s Easter egg hunt.
