Bugs on the Hooch Promises Fun for Columbus Families

If you’re shopping for Columbus new homes, you might want to take a break for some family fun this Memorial Day weekend. That’s when Woodruff Park plays host to the 6^th Annual Bugs on the Hooch event. Don’t let the name of this event fool you. These bugs aren’t insects. They’re Volkswagen Beetles!

The event is hosted by the ScumBugs VW Club and features entertainment, games and of course, a VW car show. The entire weekend is free with the exception of the Scumbugs Cool Car Corral, which asks for a $5 donation at the gate. All proceeds benefit Animal Ark Rescue.

The festivities begin Saturday, May 27 and include a Hooch Cruise to Fort Mitchell National Cemetery to plant 10,000 flags. Everyone is also invited to caravan to Victory Field where there will be bands, food, a Drone Race, and activities for kids such as pony rides, a rock climbing wall and more.

The Hooch All VW Car Show takes place on Sunday, May 28. This must-attend event is located on the banks of the beautiful Chattahoochie River. Attendees can enjoy the river walk, zip lines, a kids’ splash pad and playground. There will also be awards, prizes, raffles and more.
