2021 Home Design Trends to Consider

December 21, 2020

Whether you are looking for ways to spruce up your home or are looking to move into one of our new Midland GA homes next year, there are many ways you can decorate your home. Check out these 2021 design trends to consider incorporating into your interior home design.

  1. Couch slipcover – Back in the day plastic slipcovers were used to cover furniture. Upgrading to a more luxurious option, a decorating trend you will see next year are custom designed fabric slipcovers covering chairs, couches, and sofas.
  2. Home office – Working from home became an absolute necessity this year. So, it should be no surprise that more and more homeowners are interested in having a dedicated home office. The office space should be simplistic with more organization and less clutter.
  3. Houseplants – Gardening became a popular pastime in 2020. Houseplants even became a staple in virtual meetings and selfies. In 2021, indoor gardening and houseplants, such as cactuses and ferns, will be a decorating trend in homes.
  4. Spa-like bathrooms – Bathrooms are usually one of the first Midland GA homes rooms to get upgraded. Bidets, touchless appliances, heated bathroom floors, standalone clawfoot tubs, and lots of showerheads with speakers and rain shower, are going to be the go-to bathroom trends next year.
  5. Walls – You can call this a comeback! Open floor plans have been all the rave for more than a decade. However, next year you will see more homeowner’s opting for room separation in their homes. Installing walls, retractable walls, pocket doors, or even room dividers will help create privacy and close off space.
  6. Wallpaper – Wallpaper was very popular decades ago. Recently, it has become a popular decorating trend. Next year will be no different. You will see wallpaper in rooms with tall windows and high ceilings because they help absorb sound. There are plenty of design colors, materials, patterns, and textures for you to choose from. These designs are bold and allow you to make a beautifully designed statement.

What trends did you like in 2020? Which trends do you plan on incorporating in your interior home design next year? From our family to yours, we wish you and your family a very special holiday season and a Happy New Year!
